The controversial Umpire Decision Review System will not be in place in the forthcoming series between India and the West Indies after the BCCI has convinced its Caribbean counterparts against the use of technology during the entire tour.


The implementation of UDRS in a bilateral series is the prerogative of the home board but the powerful BCCI, who has opposed the system from the onset, has forced the West Indies Cricket Board  to do away with it in the series, which starts with a T20 International on Saturday.

A WICB spokesperson confirmed that UDRS will not be used in the one-off Twenty20 match, five ODIs or for that matter in the three upcoming Test matches.Incidentally, UDRS was used when Pakistan toured the Caribbean recently.India has been a staunch critic of UDRS ever since Sachin Tendulkar went public with his disapproval of the system in Sri Lanka a couple of years ago.

After a three and a half year PWO career, he saw many highs and lows, this past March, Matt agreed to terms to take the next step of his career, signing a developmental  deal with WWE Inc. After his final ever PWO match, which aired two weeks ago on PWO TV on SportsTime Ohio, we said goodbye to Matt.


 Last year, Hannon has worked several matches for WWE, including a Jan. 28 appearance on SmackDown as an opponent (Mike Stevens) in Alberto Del Rio's mini Rumble match.

CHRIS GAYLE, who was the premium player of the IPL-4 and Orange cap holder is not being considered in the West Indies Squad.The WICB were unwilling to choose Gayle  who slammed the West Indies board on radio after he was not picked in the squad to take on Pakistan last month. 


STATEMENT by WICB: "Chris Gayle will not be considered for selection to the West Indies team before an intended meeting with himself, the selection committee, the WICB management and the West Indies team management.The selection committee views this meeting as necessary as a result of Gayle's comments in a widely publicised radio interview in Jamaica."


However,Kieron Pollard who played for Mumbai Indians in IPL is back into the Squad.






PARIS : Defending champion Rafael Nadal defeated Ivan Ljubicic 7-5, 6-3, 6-3 and enters into the quarterfinals of the French Open on Monday, extending his record at Roland Garros to 42-1.
Nadal is trying to equal Bjon Borg’s record of six titles at the clay-court tournament this year and will next take on either two-time runner-up robin Soderling or Gilles simon.The top-ranked Spaniard lost to Soderling in the fourth round two years ago and defeated him in last year’s final.Nadal needed five sets to beat John Isner in the first round but did not lose a set in his next three matches.





Barçelona  put in a sublime performance to take their fourth European Cup by beating Manchester United 3-1 at Wembley . Pedro, Messi and Villa were on target to ensure the team repeated the 1992 Wembley success.The first half , Barça dominate much more than the scoreline might suggest  with Rooney pegging back Pedro’s opener very much against the run of play. Even so, the first 10 minutes of the game recalled the 2006 final  with United coming out of the blocks the stronger, which Barça answered with some solid defending and a gradual development of their trademark possession football. Valdes showed his worth early on with a punch out when Rooney closed in on a Van der Saar clearance.

Despite the Barça domination though, a quick move between Giggs and Rooney saw the England centre forward hit home an equaliser on 34 minutes. That goal just seemed to push the Barça players to even greater control and they had a number of chances to take the lead again before the break, including a great set piece move that nearly undid the English defence. 

If the first half was dominated by Barça, then the second was an even more one sided affair as two great goals on  53 and 69 minutes gave Guardiola’s team a well deserved 3-1 lead. Messi hit home a wonderful strike from outside the box to culminate a lovely team move for the second goal and Villa hit a beautiful curling shot home for the third. It wasn’t just those moments of magic that were doing for United though, it was the almost total control that Barça were showing that was silencing the Manchester fans and leaving their team helpless to respond to Guardiola’s men’s domination
